Pauliene Almedia Bond

Pauliene Almedia Bond, 94, of Auburn, California, passed away on June 30, 2013 in Auburn, Calif., of natural causes.
Pauliene was born May 17, 1919 in Florence, South Dakota. She moved to California in the mid forties to teach at Auburn Placer High School where she met fellow teacher Carroll W.E. Bond. They married on December 26, 1948. She received her Masters degree in Home Economics from Sacramento State in 1963. For 35 years she taught at Sierra College before retiring in 1979. While at Sierra College, she was the Acting head of Home Economics; President of the Faculty Association; President of the Northern Section Calif. Home Economics Association; Member of the Faculty Senate; and served on several faculty and administration committees. Pauliene was very active in the Auburn community. She was Past President of the Auburn Community Concert; President Delta Kappa Gamma; Membership Chairman Placer County CRTA. Pauliene loved to travel. Many of the trips were study trips to augment her teaching of foods and family at Sierra College. Some of the most popular classes she taught were on family. During the next fifteen years, they traveled extensively all over the world. After her husband died on October 15, 1999, she spent lots of time with her daughter and grandchildren. Pauliene loved people.
Pauliene is survived by her daughter, Arladell Nelson-Speyer of Cool, CA; six grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial for Pauliene will be held at Oakwood Village, 3388 Bell Road, Auburn, Calif., on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at 2 p.m.
