William Douglas Borba

William Douglas Borba, age 92, passed away at home on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
He was born October 17, 1920, in Lincoln to the late Joe and Theresa Borba. He attended Lincoln schools and was a lifelong resident of Lincoln. He married Lucille Seriva in 1940 and they had two sons.
William worked for Gladding McBean for over 40 years and retired in 1983. He was a volunteer on the Lincoln Fire Department for many years. He was a former member of the Holy Ghost Association and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Some of his favorite hobbies and past times were fishing, golfing, traveling, working at home in the garden, and spending time with family and friends.
William is survived by his sons, Lawrence (Elaine) Lincoln and David (Janet) Lincoln; granddaughters: Marla (Steve) Yuba City, Mona (Rusty) Folsom, Michelle (Mike) Lincoln, Karin (Ken) Seattle, Wash., Tina (Scott) Lincoln, Nicole (Tim) Lincoln; great-grandchildren Michael, Krsytin, Jordan, Baylee and Mariah all of Lincoln; and many other relatives, extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.
William was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille; his parents, Joe and Theresa; granddaughter, Lori Ann; and sister, Virginia.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed greatly and forever loved by all of us.
A Visitation and Rosary are scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Lincoln Funeral Home, 406 H Street, Lincoln. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. and Rosary at 7 p.m. Catholic Mass is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lincoln. Burial will follow at the Lincoln Cemetery. Arrangements made under the direction of Lincoln Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lincoln Holy Ghost Assn (in the name of William Borba), PO Box 1123, Lincoln, CA 95648. Checks made payable to APDES or Lincoln Holy Ghost. Donations can also be made directly at the Chapel at McBean Park (at the base of the Holy Ghost Crown) during the Festa on May 4-5, 2013.
