Barbara A. Kuhn-Thompson passed away on December 1, 2013 after a long illness. She was born in Lindsay, Calif., on January 15, 1926 to William Clark and Sydney Parker Rea. She was the youngest of three children. Barbara married Charles Kuhn in 1943 and they had five children. Barbara worked in Silicon Valley in Electronics for many years and in the Textile Retail business until her retirement four years ago. She belonged to the Roseville Emblem Club $407 and was a Past President; she was also a member of a Red Hat Group and a member of the Auburn Elks #1691.
She is survived by: her three children Sharon (Phil) Bettencourt of Rocklin, David Kuhn of Auburn, and Tricia (Steven) Tani of Cupertino, Grandchildren: Charles (Tina), Richard (Jeannie) Parmiter, Cindy (Dennis) Poppe, Kimberly DellaMaggiore, and friend Kenny all of Ohio, Jeffrey (Michelle) Parmiter of Okla., Chris and Emilie Tani, Deanne (Mike) Philips, Kerri (Sam) Shukla, Courtney (Darren) Mah all of Calif., Jared (Ashley) Bruno of Tex., Crystal (James) Jeffries of Oreg., and Sean Kuhn of Japan. 17 Great-Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Her best friend and sister-in-law Ardyth "Rusty" Rea. Several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Charles C. Kuhn, second husband Charles D. Thompson, daughter Martha Kuhn, and son Robert Kuhn, brothers Meredith and Sidney Rea.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 4, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Auburn Elks #1691, 195 Pine Street, Auburn, Calif. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project (CHEMP).
