Don Melvin Juergenson of Auburn passed away on October 10, 2013 at the age of 74.
He was born in Stockton, Calif., on October 10, 1939, and graduated from Davis High School, Sierra College, and CSU Chico.
For 30 years Don taught auto shop, metal shop and mining classes at Sierra College. He was a member of the Friends of the Scenic Cumbres and Toltec Railroad and Sacramento Valley Live Steamers. Don enjoyed travelling and was always on the hunt for old mines, railroads, and the best scenic route.
He is survived by his wife, Jeri; sons: Randal Juergenson (Steffanie), Jesse Juergenson; daughter, Brittany Covich (Tyler); brother, Yancey Juergenson (Carole); sisters, Joyce Epperly (Bob), Jan Thrower (Jim), Amy Vargas (Joe); his many nieces nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his family, numerous friends and students.
