Jack Lee Geddes
1927 - 2014

Jack Geddes passed away while napping on a ride in the Washington Cascades with a dear friend. Jack had been suffering from congestive heart failure.
Jack grew up in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and California. After graduating high school, Jack moved to the Auburn area in 1948 and worked at Stanton's Shell in lower Auburn where he met the love of his life "Babe". They were married in the Auburn Pioneer Methodist Church in 1949 and Jack took a job at DeWitt State Hospital shortly thereafter. Jack worked within the California state hospital system for 29 years and retired in 1978 from Sonoma State Hospital where he was a Program Director.
Jack is my dad, and no finer man have I ever known. He and my mom, Babe Geddes, were wonderful parents. Weekends were always filled with exploring the mother lode area and Sierras, digging old bottles and enjoying the company of friends by the fire. They both loved Placer High School sports and supported all our teams. They loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Norway, Hawaii and they even took a trip through the Panama Canal.
Jack was good with his hands and enjoyed keeping their house in top condition. He loved gardening, making divinity candy when the weather was just right and old airplanes. He had several favorite air museums in Washington and could name aircraft by both sight and sound. Most of all, dad loved his family and his dear wife Babe. I pray they have been reunited and together always.
Jack is survived by his son, James C Geddes; daughter-in-law, Nancy Geddes; grandchildren, Corey and Meadow Geddes; great-grandchildren, Maya Geddes and Logan Williams; and sister, Frankie Scarborough.
