Marilyn Andersen, born in Sacramento, Calif., passed away peacefully at home on November 10, 2012 in Stockton, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George K. "Andy" Andersen. She is survived by her children, Lynette Morlan (David), Janis Andersen, Daniel Andersen (Jeanie), Neil Andersen, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Marilyn grew up in Sacramento and married Andy in 1948. They eventually built their own home in Penryn, Calif. where they lived for 25 years. Marilyn then moved to Auburn. She was born a baseball fan; her father, Joe Manger, played in the minor leagues. Her other passions were reading, golf and cribbage. Marilyn was a member of Auburn Valley GC and was Captain of the Women's Club in 1988. When she could no longer golf, Marilyn became an avid cribbage player. She served as president of the Placer Peggers in Auburn.
She will be remembered for her smile and her laughter.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 124 Orange Street, in Auburn, on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Final arrangements were made through Neptune society.
