Patricia Maureen Galdal
1950 - 2013
Patricia Maureen Galdal, dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother, died on August 14, 2013. She was 63 years old. Otto, her best friend and husband of 19 years and her children were at her side.
Joyful, passionate, charismatic, spiritual, adventurous and positive, Patti was a gifted artist who enjoyed sharing stories about people, art, antiques she had found and nature. Her favorite past times included gardening, riding horses, kayaking and spending time with friends and family. She embodied the spirit of celebration and giving.
Patti found unbridled joy in bringing people together and making connections with others. She never came across a stranger as she treated people as though she had known them forever. In return, everyone she met loved her and instantly became her friend. Patti directed her boundless energy toward helping others with their endeavors, and creating a beautiful place to celebrate life with her friends and family.
Patti was born on January 3, 1950, in San Francisco, California, to Lynda (Madeline) and Jack Foley. She spent her early childhood years in South San Francisco. After graduating from El Camino High School, Patti married and raised her three children. She lived in San Bruno before establishing herself in Cool, California where she met Otto. Patti worked as a graphic artist and preschool teacher where she loved doing art projects with children. She spent the last ten years devoting her time to what she loved; her husband, spending time with family and friends and creating a wonderful oasis on their property.
Patti is survived by Otto, her children Shawn, Lesa and her husband Dave, Amy and her husband George, grandchildren Katie, Madeline, Sean, Charlie, Alli, Will, Nicholas and her brother Mark.
A Memorial in celebration of her life and tremendous spirit will be held on Saturday August 24, 2013 at 1 p.m., at Cool Community Church in Cool, California followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American River Conservancy (www.arconservancy.org) or toward the awareness of Colorectal Cancer (www.cancer.org, select donate, choose Colorectal Cancer in the drop down bar).
