Genevieve Wilson of Brookings,
Oregon passed away quietly at home
on April 4, 2018. Genevieve was born
in Washington and raised in Fortuna,
California by her parents Lola and Dean
Holt. She was competitive by nature
and excelled in her school studies and
athletics. A former rodeo queen, Genevieve
was a business leader, Bronze
Life Master Bridge player and a shining
light in her community. After moving
to Colorado in 1968, she owned
and managed several businesses and
worked for over 25 years in the banking/
mortgage lending industry. After
marrying Al Wilson, she set roots in
the Brookings community and traveled
the world teaching bridge lessons
on cruise ships. One of her passions
included the Soroptimist Club, where
she championed efforts to stop human
trafficking. Proudly, she was a founding
board member of Wally's House, a shelter
for abused children located in Gold
Beach, Oregon. Genevieve is survived
by her husband, Al Wilson, her children,
Mike Flynn, Trish Flynn-Hopkins, and
Andrew Flynn, Al's children Andrew
Wilson and Danielle Wilson and seven
grandchildren. A memorial service will
be held in Arvada, Colorado on April
27, 2018, 10:30 am at St. Joan of Arc. A
celebration of life will be held in Brookings,
Oregon on July 1, 2018 from 2 to 4
PM at the Brookings VFW Hall, Pioneer
& Pacific Aves. In lieu of flowers, please
consider donating to Wally's House in
her name
