Ralph C. Young, of Falcon CO,
formerly Colorado Springs and
Littleton CO, passed away at home
at the age of 88. He is survived by his
loving wife Delores, his brothers Allen
(Sammie), Glen (Janice), many family
members and close dear friends. He
was preceded in death by his beloved
son Danny. Ralph was an extremely
successful businessman most well
known as the founder of Whitco
Soft Jeep Tops which he designed
himself and then produced. He was
also inventor of the automatic 4
wheel drive hub and several other
products that are in use today, all
with only an 8th grade education.
He also had a very successful racing
career as an owner and car builder
with a magnitude of wins and
championships, and is inducted into
the Colorado Racing Hall of Fame. He
will be remembered for his generosity
and firm advice.
