Lewis Edward
Ruth, 69, of Woodland
Park, Colorado,
died April
14, of lung cancer
at his home, surrounded
by his
family.
Lewis was the
born to the late William
and Piccola Ruth, March
22, 1945, in South Webster,
Ohio, and had three brothers
and a sister.
He graduated from South
Webster High School in
1963. He served two years
in U.S. Army and was a
member of the Charlie
Company, Second Battalion,
Third Infantry, 199th
Light Infantry Brigade during
the Vietnam War.
After being honorably
discharged from the Army,
he attended Pikes Peak
Community College and
earned an associates degree
in welding.
He married Darlene Ann
Gragg on Oct. 13, 1970,
in Green Mountain Falls,
Colorado, and they lived
in Woodland Park until his
death.
Ruth worked as a
self-employed excavator
in Woodland
Park for more
than 30 years.
He enjoyed
hunting, metal
detecting and riding
his mules. He
was a respected friend and
neighbor to many.
He was preceded in death
by his brothers Norman
Dale and Robert Lamar. He
is survived by his spouse,
Darlene, and daughter,
Jennifer Jo (Ruth) Denison,
both of Woodland Park;
a son, Lewis Edward Jr. of
Chillicothe, Ohio. He is
also survived by his sister,
Connie Lee Yeley (Darrell),
of Wheelersburg,
Ohio; brother William
Albert Ruth (Dolores) of
Cincinnati, Ohio; and several
nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the
family is requesting that
donations be made to
