Rourke, Garfield Charles "Gar"  
Garfield (Gar) Charles Rourke passed away March 17th, 2015 at his home at the age of 91. He was born on July 30, 1923 in Woodland, CA. He lived in Colusa for the past 46 years. Gar served our country as a Storekeeper First Class V-6 in the United States Navy from 1942 through 1946. Gar's professional career was with Bank of America which he worked for 47 years as a bank manager and loan officer, specializing in the agricultural industry. He worked in the Colusa branch for the last 20 years of his career and retired in 1988. Gar served his community in many ways. He was a member of the Colusa Rotary Club for the past 45 years, and was one of the founders of the Colusa County Scholarship Foundation serving over the past 30 years; Farm Show Director; Colusa Glenn Farm Credit outside director for 13 years; served on various boards such as CA Bankers Association, 4 years; Colusa Unified District School Board, 4 years; and the Rice Research Board. Gar enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, woodworking, tennis, hiking, watching all sports on TV, spending time at the family cabin and was known as Mr. Fix-it. Gar is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Rita Rourke of Colusa, CA, daughters; Robyn Lee Rourke of Portage, WI, Christine Rourke of Truckee, CA, Kimberley Rourke DeVincenzi of Folsom, CA, brother; Herbert Rourke (Catherine) of Davis, CA. He was preceded in death by his grandson; Joshua Rourke DeVincenzi, brother; Calvin Rourke, sister; Virginia Moss, parents; Herbert and Elsie Rourke. Memorial contributions may be made in Gar's name to the Colusa County Scholarship Foundation (Colusa, CA), Pacific Legal Foundation (Sacramento,CA), Colusa Animal Shelter (Colusa, CA) or charity of your choice. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4th at the First Presbyterian Church, 4th & Jay St. Colusa, CA. Burial will follow at the Colusa Cemetery, 1974 Wilson Ave, Colusa, CA. Celebration of his life to follow services at the Colusa Golf and Country Club, 2224 State Hwy 20, Colusa, CA. Schneider, Henry John  
Henry "Hank" Schneider passed peacefully on March 1, 2015 in San Diego, CA, aged 80. He attended Orland High School, where he played in the band and on the football team. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with honors in 1957. He then married his high school sweetheart , Joanne Iverson, also from Orland. They shared 57 years of marriage. Hank enjoyed a long and varied career as a mechanical engineer, industrial designer, and entrepreneur. He is survived by wife Joanne and children Karen & Paul. The family has suggested that folks make donations to the Orland High School music department.

Padilla, Virginia "Ninnie" (Leverett)  
Virginia was born August 9, 1910 in Arbuckle, California. She passed away at home on March 8, 2015 at the age of 104. Virginia was a very strong, independent, and determined woman. She was a fighter and did so till the end. Virginia was a flapper during the roaring 20's and loved to dance. She enjoyed going to the local dance halls and knew how to do the Charleston. She always loved shopping at Macy's to buy the most fashionable clothes. And in her later years, in her 90's, she enjoyed using Facebook so she could keep up to date with her many grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids. She also enjoyed ordering items on Amazon.com. Virginia was born and raised in Arbuckle, California until the late 1920's. In 1929, she graduated from Pierce High School in College City, California. In 1930, Virginia attended Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, California for nurses training but decided it was not for her. In the mid to late 1930's she held a job in Spokane, Washington. By 1940, she moved to North Sacramento with her husband Cecil to attend Heald Business School. She completed the business course in December 1941. She performed shorthand and could type 90wpm. As of December 1941, she started her civil service career with employment at McClellan Field, otherwise known as McClellan Air Force Base. She completed her 31 year civil service career at The Presidio of San Francisco. Virginia is preceded in death by her husbands Vernon Jackson, Cecil Hotchiss, Joseph Thomas and Domingo Padilla of Fremont, CA; parents George Henry Leverett and Nellie Florence Moore, and brothers George Sperry Leverett and Alvah Leverett. She is survived by her nephews Alvah Paul Leverett and niece-in-law Marlene Leverett of Walnut Creek, CA; nephew George Robert Leverett and niece-in-law Wilma Leverett of Yuba City, CA; great niece Dawn Rebecca Leverett and her spouse of Yuba City, CA; her great nephew Alvah Richard Leverett of Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by four of her Padilla stepchildren Dolores, Domingo Jr., Rosemarie and Ronald, along with many Padilla step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The families would like to thank Faye, Ritzi, Dory, and Sally for all the time, energy, and help in assisting their loved one. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. The family asks that donations may be made to a Veteran's charity of your choice or American Diabetes (in her name) in lieu of flowers.

Boot, Ernest William "Bill"  
Ernest William "Bill" Boot passed away on March 12, 2015 from a short illness. He was born in Orland, Ca. on November 7th, 1933. His parents, Sam and Leta Boot had a ranch in Orland, also his grandparents, Leonard & Bessie Boot. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Warren) Boot, 3 children: Patricia Dicello (Buzz) of Bigfork, Mt, Carol Carpenter (Brian) and Jim Boot both of Corning. There are 10 grandchildren: Angie Vculek, San Jose, Amaera Baylaurel of Mill Valley, Melika Huneke (Jason) of McKinleyville, Joshua Boot of Vancouver, WA, Annika Darling of Portland, Or, Willie Boot (Natasha Norris) of Sacramento, Ca., Casey Miner of Tacoma, WA., Paris Fountain (Bryce Biswell) of Corning, Stephanie Fountain of Chico, Ca. and Chris Carpenter. Great Grandchildren are: Titan Long, Dustyn Huneke, Kyla Huneke, Wylie Biswell and Jackson Thomas Boot. Bill is also survived by his brother, Bob Boot (Barbara) of Flora Vista, NM. Bill was in the Air Force from 1952 to 1957. He and his wife, Barbara had a business (Corning Truck & RV Center) in Corning from 1961 to 2008. Bill Boot, 79, earned his private pilot's license in 1971. His love of aviation began during WW11 when P38's and T6 trainers flew over his house on the downwind leg of Orland Airport. He went on to become a commercial and instrument rated pilot. His first aircraft was a 1963 Cessna 172 which he purchased in 1973. He went on to build an experimental airplane, a KR2, which was named "Bouncing Baby." He became a proficient aviator logging over 2000 hours. He also bought and learned to fly a "Quicksilver," in the light sport category. The Quicksilver is a similar experience to the early days of aviation, with no cockpit, flying with just a seat and control stick. He was loved by his family and friends in the community. A memorial service is planned at the Corning Airport on March 21st, at 11:00 A.M. A potluck and BBQ are also planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to EAA Chapter #1148 for the Air Academy Scholarship Fund.

Harrah, Roy  
On February 21st, 2015 our heavenly father welcomed home Roy Harrah. Roy is survived by his wife Judy; daughters, Jill, Tamara, and Jody. Roy has 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 4 granddaughters; and 3 great-granddaughters. Roy will be forever missed. Services will be held March 28th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the C.M.A Church, 6491 Clark Rd., Paradise, Ca.

Hernandez, Mary Angela  
Mary Angela Hernandez, 75, returned to her heavenly home on Monday, March 9, 2015, after a battle with many illnesses. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported in her struggle and gave her peace. She was born October 2, 1939, in Mexico to Andres Quintana and Petra Fragoso. Mary was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Emillo November 9, 1957 in Bakersfield, Ca., and they were married 54 years. She is survived by her sons Edward Hernandez of Durham, Emillo Hernandez of Pacifica; daughters, Irene Hobbs of Red Bluff, Vicky (Pat) Haney of Artois; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She will be joining her husband, daughter Peggy, parents, brother Andy, and some nieces and nephews. She had a big heart and was loved by everyone she touched. She will be missed deeply. A rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. and funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Saint Monica's Catholic Church in Willows.

Pendell, Jeremy Orville  
A memorial service for Jeremy Orville Pendell originally of Stonyford will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stonyford Community Church. Jeremy was born September 25, 1985 and passed away in San Jose on March 7, 2015. He was loved and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Arrangements by F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Willows.

Williams, Celesta "Gabi"  
Celesta "Gabi" Williams was born in Romania on April 27, 1968. She passed on March 11, 2015 at the age of 46. Gabi came to the United States in February 2001 and a few years later meet the love of her life Nathan Williams. She lived a full and happy life with many friends and family in Williams, CA. She is survived by her husband Nathan, her mother, brother, mother in law, father in law, a step son, sister in law, brothers in law, many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Jake. There will be a celebration of Gabi's life on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00p.m..
