Vivian E. Loe

Vivian E. Loe, 96, passed away on Dec. 8, 2013, at Valley West Care Center in Williams. She was born on Nov. 17, 1917, in Stanton, Neb. to Harvey and Sally Brown. Vivian was raised in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School. On March 23, 1940, she married Leonard Loe in Neligh, Neb. In 1950, they moved to Colusa in Oct. 2004 to reside with their daughter and son-in-law, Judy and John Tiernan.

Vivian was a secretary the majority of her life and retired from Siskiyou County in 1976. She loved her family very much and was known for her kindness, generosity, boundless energy, creativity, and very quick wit. Sewing was her passion; she once said, "I just love fabric." Her friends and family certainly enjoyed her many creations.

Vivian is survived by her children, Judy (John) Tiernan of Colusa, Donald Loe of Yreka, and Mary (Dan) Freitas of Montague; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, sons William and Robert, and daughter Sally.

A celebration of Vivian's life will be held Sat. January 18, 2014 at 4:00 p.m., at the Scout Cabin, 901 Parkhill, Colusa.
