Throughout Donna's life family was her main priority. Donna was active in her children's lives from coaching soccer, to assisting with girl and boy scouts and helping in their school classrooms. Donna's most memorable skill was her creativity with food. Every holiday some new dish emerged, from famous cookie cake to homemade cream cheese egg rolls. Donna had more artistic passion that showed through her sewing. Around the Gilmer house, homemade, love filled Halloween costumes were the norm. Starting with The Bat Brigade in 1990 Catwoman (Kelly), Batman (Robert), Robin (Andrew) and Batgirl (Irene), and continuing with Blue (John II) and Magenta (Amanda) from the popular TV series Blue's Clues.
Donna enjoyed jewelry making, working on her car or house, singing in the car with family and friends and everything that came with a good laugh. Donna also had a love for animals, always having at least one pet in the house and now leaving behind nine animal companions.
Donna will be missed by all that knew her.
Services will be held Thursday 12/29/2011 at 1p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 13539 Garner Ln. Chico, CA 95973.
