Ellsworth Woody, 99, of Williams, passed away on July 28, 2013 at Emerald Oaks in Yuba City.|
He was born on May 24, 1914 to Ellen and John Ryan in Portland, Oregon.
He is survived by 4 generations; daughters, Lana DeStefani of Roseville and Christie Ponciano of Williams; 5 grandchildren, Yvonne Homer, Kerstin Morell, Colette DeStefani, Koren Martinelli and Jennifer Firestone; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years Dorothy Kerr Woody and grandson Rick Ponciano.
Ellsworth was a member of the Lions Club, Elks Club, Masonic Lodge, and Shriners International. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and watching his favorite football team, the 49ers. Ellsworth was a Williams resident for 63 years, he was a walnut farmer and worked for Production Credit Association in Willows for 7 years. Ellsworth will be truly missed by his family.
Graveside burial will be held at the Alturas Cemetery, August 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Pastor Chris Madsen of Sutter North Hospice, with a reception following at John and Pat Kerr's home in Alturas.
