Robert Laverne Rominger, 91, passed away on January 11, 2014 in Woodland, Calif.

Robert was born in Woodland, Calif. on Nov. 5, 1922. A lifelong resident of the southern Colusa County area, Robert was a graduate of Pierce High School class of 1940.

He served in the USAAF in WWII as a single engine pilot and flight instructor. Later he engaged in farming almonds, sugar beets, wheat and alfalfa with Rominger Brothers of Arbuckle. He also served on the board of trustees of the Arbuckle Unified School District.

Robert was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fly fishing. He was a long time member of the Arbuckle Golf Club and was well liked in the community. He was a devoted family man and particularly loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by his family and the many friends he made over the years.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Jeannette Rominger; brother, Roy Rominger; son, John Rominger of Arbuckle, Calif.; daughters, Barbara Moran of Oakton, VA, Robyn Nagle of St. Louis, MO, Ellen Rominger of San Mateo, CA; nephews Larry and Gerald Rominger of Arbuckle, CA; nieces Julie Tucker of Colusa, CA, Linda Terry of Napa, CA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Hilda Rominger; his wife Margaret Rominger and his brother Kenneth Rominger.

Burial services will be private. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at the Arbuckle Golf Club on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
