Violet L. "Vi." Sartain Obituary
Violet L. (VI) Sartain, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, November 16, 2012.

Violet was born October 29, 1928 in Ionia, Michigan to Otto and Goldie Adams. She had two brothers Gerald and Dean Adams.

Vi married the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Sartain July 25, 1970 in a small chapel in Rough & Ready, Calif. (Gerald affectionately called her Kitten). They made their home in Colusa, Calif. for over 42 years. Vi, worked for a variety of local businesses over the last forty years, most notably, Little Joes, Colusa Drug & Gifts, Zim's, and Colusa Golf & Country Club from which she finally retired at age 75.

Vi was a member of the Meridian United Methodist Church, Yuba City Chapter of Eastern Star, (she also gave Gerald moral support in all of his Masonic endeavors), Beta Sigma Fi Sorority, Yuba City Moose Lodge, and the Tuesday Lunch Bunch. All held a special place in her heart and the friends she made over the years, she loved dearly.

Vi is survived by her Husband, Gerald Sartain; daughters, Madelon Morgan (Rodney), Marianne Lane (Carl), Melinda Montgomery; son, Gordon Montgomery (Carla); grandchildren, Jackie Anderson (Eric), Marissa Wood, Gavin Wise, Jessica Montgomery, Adam Johnson, Jodi Cortez (Tim), Mandy Robbins (Mike), Christopher Robbins (Amanda), Kelsey Lindquist (Derek); and 12 Great Grandchildren, all of whom filled her life with love and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Otto and Goldie Adams; brothers, Gerald and Dean Adams; daughter, Michelle Montgomery; and grandson, Jeremy Montgomery.

A Memorial Service will be held on November 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 1121 Second Street, Meridian, CA.
