Alfred Howell Davis, 78, passed away on June 18, 2013, at Gridley Healthcare and Wellness Center. |
He was born on October 15, 1934, in Berkeley, California, to Ramona and Howell Davis. He was a life-long Colusa County resident. He was a 1953 graduate of Colusa High School, and he attended Yuba College and U.C. Davis. He was active in farming operations with Davis Ranches and Ramona Davis Ranch. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, the California Rifle and Pistol Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed hunting, trapshooting, and shooting sporting clays. Over the years, he enjoyed attending sporting events, FFA activities, and band concerts of his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed his Wyoming hunting trips with his good friends. He was a twenty year member of the Colusa Rural Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Ramona Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Judith Davis of Colusa; daughters, Nancy Davis and Susan Davis Correa (husband Spyder) of Colusa; grandsons, Justin Correa of Colusa, and Travis Bode, currently stationed in Pensacola, Florida; sister, Denise Davis Kaveney of Chico; numerous nieces and nephews; and his constant companion and co-pilot, his dog Annie.
