ADAMS, REV. GLADYS DENSON  
Rev. Gladys Denson Adams, 91, of Memphis, TN died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Baptist East Hospice after a valiant fight from a long illness. Mrs. Adams was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on February 1, 1923 to evangelists Rev. J.J. and Mattie Denson. She moved to Memphis as a child where her parents ran “The Poplar Street Mission”. She is survived by 2 daughters, Toni Collins (Roy) of Bolivar, TN; Gale Andrews of Byhalia, MS; and one son, John P. Adams (Marie) of Memphis; her sister, Deloris Clark (John) of Bartlett, TN; two brothers, Jimmy Denson of Ridgely, TN and Lowell “Spike” (Davonna) Denson of Atoka, TN; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Abel P. Adams and their two sons, Dale Adams and Patrick Adams; three brothers, Quentin Denson, Delmar Denson, and Lee Denson; and three sisters, Juanita Moore, Gloria Reed and Virginia Fay Howard. Following her graduation as an honors student from Memphis Tech High School in 1942, Mrs. Adams joined the war effort and worked in Newport News, VA where she met and married her husband who was enlisted in the Navy. After the War, both Mrs. Adams and her husband attended Southwestern Bible Institute in Waxahachie, TX to prepare for the ministry. Mr. and Mrs. Adams pastored several churches with their young family across the Southeast. Mrs. Adams also served as General Overseer of the denomination founded by her father, The Church of God at Memphis while her husband also worked as an ironworker and welding teacher in the Memphis City Schools. Mrs. Adams was an avid reader, enjoyed politics and was active in many community causes in Memphis. She was known as a fierce defender of liberty and constitutional rights. Most of all, she wanted to spread the gospel and never wasted an opportunity to minister and help people. She was a loving grandmother and will be missed by all of her family and friends. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Chapel at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. ADAMSON, MAYFORD  
Mayford “Lee” Adamson, of Memphis, TN, entered into eternal rest after a lengthy illness on January 12, 2015. He was born in Birmingham, AL to Herbert and Geraldine Geneva Adamson and married Irma Sue Foster June of 1968. Lee was a highly decorated veteran who served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart, two air medals (one with valor), and multiple citations for bravery while serving in Vietnam. He was a master mechanic at several corporations including Firestone, Volvo and Weyerhaeuser. Lee was a marksman who enjoyed target shooting with his son Chris, loved hanging out with Chris and his band friends and duck hunting with his brother-in-law, Denver. He will be missed by everyone including his wife; Irma Sue (Foster) Adamson, son; Christopher Lee, two granddaughters; Anna Grace and Haylen; sisters; Laura South (Donnis), Sandy Palmer (Mike), Janice Patrick and a host of friends and family. Services will be held on Friday, January 16 from 5-9 p.m. at High Point Funeral Home, 3788 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. The family would like to thank all friends for their support at this time. ALEXY III, SAMUEL ALEXANDER  
Samuel Alexander Alexy, III, 84, went to be with the Lord January 19, 2015. He was a retired Air Force and Korean War veteran. Preceded by his wife of 53 years, Betty Webb Alexy. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Smith and Cindy Cole (Randy); five grandchildren; Christopher Smith, Mackie Smith, Leah Sanders, Alexandria and Montgomery Cole; five great grandchildren and brother, Bruce Alexy. Rev. Bobby E. Anderson, 79, retired U.S. Postal Service branch manager and retired Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jackson, TN. passed January 20, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. Anderson, daughter Beverly (Melvin) Wilson, son Derek (Arlene) Anderson, two grandchildren and a sister. Visitation Friday, January 23, 5-7 pm at M.J. Edwards Stage Road Chapel. ANDREWS, JIMMY NEAL - Olive Branch  
Olive Branch - Jimmy Neal Andrews, 75, passed away January 20, 2015 at his home. He was born January 27, 1939 to the late Milton Dee and Avie Neal Andrews in Caledonia, MS. Jimmy Neal graduated from Olive Branch High School. He was a retired manager for M. C. Herrington Distributors Inc. and a member of Maples Memorial Methodist Church. Mr. Andrews was also currently serving on the board of the North Mississippi Electric Power Association as Secret- ary-Treasurer. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Andrews. He leaves behind his daughters; Lisa Selph, Julie Niblett and Beth Chumney all of Olive Branch, Kellie Thompson of Chattanooga and Audrey Green of Weir, MS, sons; Neal Andrews of Abbeville, Paul Andrews of Moscow, TN and Ricky Wynn of Holly Springs. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, January 24 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Burial will be private and at a future date. Johnny Floyd Archer, 86, passed away January 16, 2015. He was a United States Navy Veteran and retired Memphis Fireman.
