I am very sorry to know that Dave has left us. He was a very fine person, had a great knowledge of music and wonderful sense of humor. I will miss our conversations.

I'm very sad to hear Dave has left us. We met as volunteer programmers at WEVL here in Memphis. Dave and I would call during each other's shows and talk about music. Dave was kind and intelligent. I will miss him. My sympathies to his family.
Dave, God bless you brother.

Dave was just one of the many friends that I grew up with on the streets of Ocean Beach (San Diego, CA)... His passing reminds me of just how fragile all of our mortalities are... The last time I saw him he set me up with an old girl-friend (actually my first) that I hadn't seen in years... I'll always be indebted to him for that great favor... Oh and I still owe him an amp that I thrashed when we were so very young... Even though we didn't stay tight, I'll always remember him and miss him... You know it's amazing how we all turned out, considering what we all went through...
Peace Be With You Dave...

I spent my late teens and early adult years hanging out and cruising the streets of OB. And more often than not, I'd be hanging out with Dave. With his easy lifestyle and great sense of humor, it was never a problem being a buddy of Dave. I will miss him terribly.

Trying this a second time......
I was sorry to learn of Dave's passing. He and I had many wonderful times talking and hanging outlisten and/or watching music. We would call each others respective radio shows on WEVL and request songs. I always referred to him as "Brother Dave" on my show and he and I shared a love for the music of Frank Zappa and Jethro Tull. In fact, that last time I saw Dave was a few years ago when we met up at one the of the casinos in Tunica to watch Jethro Tull do a tour which featured them playing the Aqualung album in its entirity, amidst all of the other tunes they played that night. I remember he and I being frustrated at the folks sitting around us who, in typical Memphis/Tunica concert tradition, talked with their neighbors all the way thru the show. He quitely smouldered in his seat the whole night, but we somehow still managed to see a great show.
I extend my sympathies to his family and hope hes hanging out at one of Franks shows now and sittin next to Charles and diggin the fact that its 4:20 there and Im sure hes really enjoying the atmosphere.
Rest easy, Brother Dave
