CHIQUITA BRIDGES BROWN, 58, the daughter of Hosea C. Bridges and Ola Mae Bridges, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at 9 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. An honor student at Manassas High School, she continued her education at Memphis State University and at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO. She was recognized in Memphis for her work as Director of Code North, her many years in real estate, and her involvement in various volunteer projects. In l983, her commitment to service won her the honor of being inducted into Leadership Memphis. In June of 2002, she received a United States Patent for Urisleeve, a product that would give patients both convenience and dignity. This invention was in keeping with her belief that purposeful living means doing whatever you can to impact the lives of others in positive ways. As an organ donor, she continues her commitment to service even in death. She is survived by her parents, Mr. Hosea C. Bridges and Mrs. Ola Mae Bridges; three children, Bruce B. Brown (Anessa), Kelly Brown Morris (William) and Ginger Reese Brown; four grandchildren, Bruce McGee Brown, Branford Julian Brown, William Langston Morris and Blair Asa Brown; three uncles, Curtis Bridges (Lawrence), James A. Bridges (Doris) and Murray Alexander; two aunts, Dorcas Bradley of Buffalo, NY and Pauline Matlock of Cleveland, OH; cousins, Faye Wade Henning of Chicago, IL, Gloria Wade Gayles of Atlanta, GA, Ameen Shakoor of Atlanta, GA, Jean Reese of Oakland, CA, Eddie Alexander, William Matlock, Marilyn English, Vincent Matlock, Everett Matlock, Tony Bridges, Sondra Whatley, James A. Bridges, Jr., and Marjorie Bridges; ex-husband, Bruce D. Brown and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Celebration of her life will take place Tuesday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at New Beginning Ministries Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 1621 South Parkway East, Rev.
