FRANKLIN B. WINFIELD, 89, was called home Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Memphis, TN. Mr. Winfield was born in Kentucky to the late John and Janie Winfield and retired from MLG&W as well as Methodist Healthcare. While serving in WWII with the US Army, he earned a Purple Heart and a Presidential Citation. He was also a member of Easthill Baptist Church and an Ordained Baptist Minister by Union Ave. Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Eva M. Winfield, four brothers and one sister. Mr. Winfield is survived by two sons, Mark Winfield and Kenneth Winfield; one daughter, Debbie Gamble-Bazalgette; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Christina, Erin, Thomas, Jacob, Ethan, Dallas, Sarah; and six great-grandchildren, Calyn, Noah, Elijah, David, Franklin, and Eva. Family will receive guests Friday, June 26 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., from 1 p.m. till the celebration of his life begins at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Germantown Pkwy. Bro Frank was a wonderful Christian man who loved the Lord, believed the Bible, and was concerned for the souls of lost men and women. I considered it a tremendous blessing to have known him. May God comfort his family during this time.
