MALFORD ALLEN BLANKENSHIP, 89, of Bartlett, died September 21, 2013 at home. Mr. Blankenship was a retired corporate lawyer for Kaiser Corporation, and was a graduate of Memphis State Law School. He was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church, a former musician with Mal Allen and The Melody boys, and D. J. for the country radio station WDIA. He was a U.S. Navy aviator serving in WWII, chairman for “We The People” Forum and held Dutch treat luncheons for the G.O.P. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 24 at Indian Creek Cemetery. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Jean Blankenship; daughter, Yolanda Blankenship; sons, Mitchell, Samuel, and James Blankenship; sister, Vickey Rajcich; eight grandchildren, Christina, Nichole, Jeannie, Michael, Jennifer, Samantha, Seth, and Lee Garner; eight great-grandchildren. Mal will be remembered and missed by his California friends and family. May peace be with Jean, his children and his grandchildren.

To the Blankenship Family my heart and prayers are with you all. I loved keeping in touch with Uncle Mal and Aunt Jean. I have many good memories of them both. I love and miss you Mal..We might have been apart from miles but you and your family are always so close to my heart..I will never forget you and the fun times with your family.You were a wonderful uncle and great man.
