Wow! Thanks again so much for all the support and the sweet memories. It feels so good to remember her this way. How I wish I could read a post about her everyday. It was tough today. I still feel like she just went down the street to get me some Xaby's (lol). I'm sure if she could, that would be some greaaaaat chicken (really lol). Mom's sense of joy still lingers on in us. She would laugh really hard at this Xaby's joke b/c that was our joint! Because I trust in the sovereignty of our precious Lord, Jesus Christ, I have a peace that passes all understanding. I will be forever thanking Him for how He blessed us with such a strong mother. She truly fulfilled her assignment as such. So, for all you who may be sad, remember dinner at Xaby's cannot compare to the marraige supper of the Lamb. Let us continue to press. . . On behalf of the fam - Thanks always. . . Love U! TOOT! TOOT!

Jocelyn and Kim,
Your mom was an absolute joy to work with. If you were feeling down or bad, all you had to do is go to Ms. Eggerson's room and she would have you cracking up in no time. I regret not keeping in touch with her after she retired, but I often think about the good times we had at Whitehaven back in the eighties and nineties. She loved you girls and she was very proud of both of you!

God bless you both!

My condolences go out to the Eggerson family. I grew up with Ms. Eggerson's youngest daughter (Kimberly) and got a chance to see how much she loved not only her but also her oldest daughter. I am really saddened by the news of her passing. She was a great teacher and neighbor. She was always there for me when I needed help at school. I will always respect her and remember her for positive attitude and blunt honesty.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

September 17, 2009

Our mother was truly a gift from God. It is amazing to see all the outpouring of love from all who knew her. She was also my (Jocelyn's) math teacher and she still gave me the "F" I deserved for midterms:). Fried chicken couldn't save me (lol). Today I feel like the daughter of a superstar, she was a natural born comedian. We are truly blessed to be her offspring. To you she was "Fro," "Eggo," and/or "BooBoo," but to us she was just Ma & Granny. We love her, but God loved her more. Thank you for your prayers and condolences. From our fam - Jocelyn, Kim, and Mikey. Love you BooBoos.

Certainly I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Eggerson. When I first came to Whitehaven High, Mrs. E came up to me and said "you must be one of those preachers?" and then gave me her famous introduction: "My name is Mrs. Eggerson, or Mrs. E, but you can just call me Eggie boo boo". You will be truly missed.

To Family of Mrs. Gloria Eggerson,

Thank you all for sharing her with us. She had very humorous ways of challenging her students to view "real life" situations. That was such a unique approach to teaching. I learned much more in my 8th grade Algebra class @ Riverview Jr. High from her than just mathematical equations. I actually learned how to be a respectable young man and a productive member of society. This is a lesson that I have been proud to pass on to my children; therefore, Gloria Eggerson's legacy lives on.

While we will all miss her, we can take comfort in knowing that she is resting peacefully in the Loving Arms of Our Heavenly Father.

Ms Eggerson had my son for Math. I was amazed at the control she had on her students with love and humor. She found a fun way to make them learn and when I found out about her love of fried chicken, I would send her a batch of fried chicken several times during that school year to thank her for taking the time for the interest she showed in making sure my son understood math.I just want her daughters and grandson to know what a beautiful person she was and the world will not be the same without her.
