Kathy Sharp, 65, of Carbondale, CO died August 10, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born April 13, 1949 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Keith and Carolyn Sharp. Kathy studied at White Station High School and University of Memphis. She worked as an Eagle County Deputy Sheriff, owner of an antique clothes distributor and dog grooming business. She also provided legal assistance services to her longtime life partner, John Van Ness. Kathy was well known as a collector of obscure cultural artifacts on her travels with John, much of which she gave to friends and family. She is survived by her father, Keith H. Sharp Sr. and step-mother, Annie M. Sharp; brother, Keith H. Sharp Jr., his wife Connie B. Sharp and nephew Brian H. Sharp. A service will be held at Memorial Park in Memphis, TN on August 16 at 11:30 a.m. where she will be buried next to her mother, Carolyn Sharp.
