Randall Lee Britton, 64, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at his home after a long illness. He grew up in Caruthersville, MO and moved to Memphis to attend Memphis State University. He earned his BA in education, and later did graduate work in rhetoric at both the University of Wisconsin and the University of Illinois. He returned to Memphis with his family in 1988. He worked in human resources at the Med for seventeen years. He retired as Director of Human Resources of the Med in 2010, but continued as a volunteer. He was also active in the Human Resources Associations of Memphis and West Tennessee. Randy was the quintessential Memphian. He loved barbecue, the Blues, and Tiger basketball. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vicki; his three children, Kate Tedder, Ariel Britton-Hedge, and Colin Britton; his mother, Pauline Britton, and five grandchildren. A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, January 16 from 4-7 p.m. Those who are interested in attending, please call (901) 278-3504.
