Grandma Audrey "Grace" Cunliffe passed away peacefully at Hospice House Concord on Nov. 4, 2012. Born March 7, 1922, in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. She was 90 years old.
Grace was the kind and loving matriarch of the Cunliffe family. She spent her life traveling the globe with her pilot husband, Col. Richard K. Cunliffe, but would not board a plane. Instead, she crossed the oceans aboard freighter ships. She leaves behind a legacy of humor, award-winning baking, scratch bridge player, gardener extraordinaire and avid knitter. She spent over 20 years volunteering at the Concord Hospital bringing smiles to patients young and old. Grace spent the last 10 years of her life living with her sister Jessie exploring the back roads of New Hampshire and entertaining numerous friends and relatives. She was never known without a cat in her presence.
Grace is survived by her son Richard and Gail Cunliffe of Rochester, N.Y., Stephen Cunliffe of Henniker and Renee Miller of Concord. As well as four grandchildren, Michelle Cunliffe of New Mexico, Jennifer Cunliffe of Rochester, N.Y., Mickey and Cooper Cunliffe of Henniker. Two great-grand children, Emilio and Xavier, and her four-legged companions Sandy and Stella.
A service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Grace's name to the SPCA of Concord or Hospice House Concord.
