Nancy Ruedig Obituary

SUNAPEE - Nancy Carolyn Bridge Ruedig passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at her home on Lake Sunapee with her loving family.

Nancy was born October 5, 1926 in Franklin, Ohio to Adam and Alma Bridge. She attended Walnut Hill where she was president of her class, and the University of Michigan, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. At Michigan she met her husband, Dale Ruedig. They moved to Galesburg, Ill., where they raised their family, and then retired to Sunapee, and Sanibel, Fla.

Nancy was the most family-centered of mothers. Along with Dale she created a wonderful family life for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her Lake Sunapee home was a paradise of action, chaos, fun, and love, and she was smiling in the center of it right to the end.

Nancy was an accomplished singer-a Christmas highlight was an extremely amateur family performance of The Messiah-and a championship golfer-the family leader in golf hardware. She took great pride in her ability to do the Sunday Times crossword puzzle.

She was pre-deceased by her parents; her brothers Thomas Bridge and Charles Bridge; her sister Alma Bridge Kraeger; her husband Dale Ruedig; and her daughter Carolyn Ruedig Greenleaf.

Surviving her are her children David Ruedig and his wife Mary, Michael Ruedig and his wife Barbara, Susan Cameron and her husband Fraser Cameron; and son-in-law Henry Greenleaf. Her grandchildren are Taylor Greenleaf and his wife Tara Conrow, Schuyler Greenleaf and her husband Brian Ketron, Adam Ruedig and his wife Reagan Ruedig, Douglas Cameron, Catherine Ruedig Hunter and her husband Brian Hunter, Maren Cameron, Laura Ruedig Marston and her husband Peter Marston, Carolyn Cameron Caffelle and her husband Matthew Caffelle, Julia Ruedig, Zachary Greenleaf, Page Greenleaf, and Nellie Ruedig. Her great- grandchildren are Adeline Greenleaf, Harrison Greenleaf, Dale Cameron, Wilde Ketron, MacGregor Caffelle, Jack Marston, Charles Ruedig, Taylor Caffelle, Quinn Marston, Woods Ketron, Morgan Hunter, and Thomas Ruedig.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 17, at 4 p.m., at Lake Sunapee Country Club.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant St, Concord, NH 03301.
