ALEXANDRIA - Alice M. Rhude, 74, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, after a period of declining health. She was born in Boscawen, the daughter of Paul F. and Lorene (Odette) Burke. Alice was a lifelong resident of Alexandria. She attended local schools and then went on to work at IPC until her retirement. After retiring she worked part-time at the local Cricenti's Market.
Alice enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife and birds. The family often spent time camping during the summer months. She was an avid BINGO player and loved the opportunity to go to Foxwoods.
Alice's greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished time spent with her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One who loved to cook, she was always concerned that family had plenty to eat and often cooked favorite meals to show her caring.
Family members include her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald and Tracey Rhude Jr. and Randy and Chris Rhude all of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Bryant of Tilton; a brother, Louis (Deb) Burke of Alexandria ; her lifelong friend Jeanne Guptill and her faithful companion Brindy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald O. Rhude Sr.; granddaughter, Samantha Rhude; and sister, Shirley Gallagher.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at Homeland Cemetery in Bristol.
