EPSOM - Mr. Armand J. Paquette, 82, a longtime Epsom resident, died peacefully Friday night, Jan. 24, 2014, at Concord Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
Born Oct. 12, 1931, in N. Woodstock, Armand was the son of Leo and Ida (Thibeault) Paquette. He graduated from Laconia High School. A staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force
, he was a veteran of the Korean War
and a member of the American Legion.
He was a member of the CWA/ITU and spent years as a linotype operator, working for Southern New Hampshire Typesetters, Bridge & Biron, Manchester Union Leader and Yankee Typesetters. He was also a co-owner of White Mountain Gourmet Coffee.
Mr. Paquette was predeceased in 2003 by his wife of 46 years, Jean (Girard) Paquette; and by a brother, Robert Paquette.
He is survived by four children, Gary Paquette and his wife, Wendy, of Hopkinton, David Paquette of Malden, Mass., Jeffrey Paquette, and Linda Clark and her husband, Richard, all of Epsom; 10 grandchildren, Andrew Paquette, Jocelyn Kerr and Greg, Jason Paquette, Kyle Paquette and Caroline, Jessica Paquette, Nicole Clark, Justin Paquette, Bryce Paquette, Nathan Clark, and Melissa Paquette; two great-grandchildren, Molly Kerr and Amelia Kerr; three siblings and their spouses, Maurice Paquette and June of Leesburg, Fla., Lucille Shelton and George of Penacook, and Elaine Viola and Anthony of New York City; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Still Oaks Funeral and Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 30, at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Concord, where he was a long-term parishioner. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Concord.
