Clifton R. Burdette(1947 - 2012)

ANTRIM - Clifton R. Burdette, 65, died Tuesday December 4th, 2012 at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Cliff was born in Concord in October of 1947 and has lived in Antrim for the last five years coming from Austin, Texas where he had lived the previous 20 years.

Cliff moved a lot growing up and upon graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Cliff had the opportunity to work for many years in Testing for the Air Force which has led to much advancement in air safety today. He retired from the U.S Air Force in 1987 as a Master Sargent. After retirement from the Air Force he left Edwards Air Force Base in California and went to work as the State Coordinator for Motorcycle Safety in the state of Texas where he remained for 20 years, retiring in 2007. Most recently Cliff had been working for the State of New Hampshire Division of Higher Education as a Veteran's Educational Benefits Coordinator, as well as being a Motorcycle Safety instructor for the State of New Hampshire from 2007 until the present.

He was predeceased by two brothers Gordon and Leon Burdette as well as two sisters Anna Benware and Marilynn Mckerley.

Cliff leaves his beloved wife of 43 years Lynn (Duquette) Burdette of Antrim; four sisters Joanne Wilson and her husband Larry of Andover, Francis Whitney of Essex Junction, Vt., Robin Burdette of White River Junction, Vt., Dianne Goodspeed and her husband Ed of Wilder, Vt.; his mother-in-law Elaine Plummer of Penacook; in-laws Jody and Tom Berkeley of Penacook; in-laws Michele and Sam Apkarian of Antrim; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 9th, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington Street Penacook.

There will be no services.

Committal services will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
