Cynthia A. (Tinnie) Josselyn

Cynthia A. (Tinnie) Josselyn, of Concord, died peacefully Monday, July 29, 2013, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Brant Rock, Mass., daughter of Althea (Fifield) and Fred L. Staples Sr., Tinnie graduated from Marshfied High School where she excelled at sports. Always athletic, Tinnie loved to swim in the ocean and found a talent for and love of golf after moving to New Hampshire. She also enjoyed walking and reading and frequently could be found at the Pembroke Library.

The sixth of eight children, Tinnie began a long work history early, working at local farms, Holmes' Store and Estes Candy Kitchen who made her favorite salt water taffy. After high school she went to work for NE Telephone and Telegraph, working as a switchboard operator until she became a mother.

Tinnie married Malcolm E. Josselyn and moved to Hanover, Mass. where their children were born. After moving to Pembroke, Tinnie worked as a cook at the Pembroke Academy. When her eldest entered high school, she left and was hired by the Concord Clinic where she worked until retirement, first at the switchboard then in the business office.

After retiring, Tinnie, Mal and sister Winnie drove across country in an RV to Arizona to visit sister Goldie, after visiting brothers Sully, Stape and Don in Florida. She especially enjoyed the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and a trip to Las Vegas, as well as her vacation to Aruba with sisters Judy and Goldie. Tinnie loved her family, her cats, and outings to restaurants where she didn't have to "get all-dogged-up". She loved a party and was frequently one of the last guests to leave.
