Eben H. Barnett(1920 - 2013)

PENACOOK - Eben H. Barnett, 92, died Monday, March 4th, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.

He was born in Concord the son of Charles and Henrietta (Otterson) in June 1920 and has lived in Penacook his entire life. He was a graduate of Penacook High School with the class of 1939.

He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army after serving from 1942-1945. Upon return to Penacook Eben went to work for the Rumford Press Printing Co. in Concord as a machinist. He retired in 1983 after 37 years of employment.

Eben was a past Master and a 70 year Mason with the Horace Chase Lodge #72 in Boscawen, a member of the Scottish Right, Ancient Accepted Free Masons; was a member of the Shriners Bektash Temple Drum Corp. and the American Legion Post 31 in Penacook as well. Eben also had a deep love for his family and had a respect for and enjoyed the outdoors and nature.

Eben is predeceased by his parents as well a brother G. Morrill Barnett and two sisters Josephine Barnett and Martha Jurta.

Eben is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Hazel (Kachadoorian) Barnett of Penacook; a daughter Nancy Bailey and her husband Clayton of Lyndonville, Vt.; two sons Charles Barnett and his wife Alicia of Westmoreland and Peter Barnett and his wife Karen of Ocean, N.J.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be no calling hours and gravesides services will be private with Fraternal Masons of Horace Chase Lodge performing his Masonic Rituals at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
