Elizabeth I. Jones(1929 - 2014)

TILTON – Elizabeth I. Jones, 84, of Tilton passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, following a period of declining health. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Elizabeth was born in Exeter on Feb. 25, 1929, the daughter of John and Lillian (Lary) Jette. She was raised in Exeter and graduated from Robinson Female Seminary. Following high school, Elizabeth joined the Exeter Police Department where she worked as an officer until 1959, when she left the department to start a family.
Elizabeth was a longtime member of St. Michael's Church in Exeter as well as Immaculate Heart of Mary in Concord. She enjoyed knitting, reading and listening to big band, jazz and Irish music. She was blessed with years of travel and spent many summers at the family home in Prince Edward Island, but above all else, found her greatest enjoyment in time spent with her family. Elizabeth was a kind, gentle and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 551/2 years, James Jones; son, Kevin Jones and his wife, Joanne, of Concord; daughter, Karen Robichaud and her husband, Ken, of Canterbury; grandchildren, Zachary and Lucas Robichaud of Canterbury and Geoffrey Chase and his wife, Eva, of California; sisters-in-law, Jane Jette of Durham, Rose Marie Rogers of Rochester and Marguerite Dunbar of Ossipee; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jack Jette.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, Jan. 9, 1 to 2 p.m., at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King St. in Boscawen. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Cremation Society chapel. Elizabeth's urn will be placed at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery during a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to New Hampshire Audubon at 84 Silk Farm Road, Concord, 03301.
