George Paul Elms died Friday night, Aug. 2, 2013. at Pleasant View Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been for two weeks. George had been at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for the past three months where he had cardiac surgery.
George was born to Mary and Edward Elms on Feb. 22. 1940 in Boston. George came to Concord when he was 24 years old. He worked for the Rumford Press Printing Co. for several years. After the company closed he went to work for anther printing company. He later worked for the State of NH Turnpike Division, and also worked for Walmart for several years before retiring.
George was predeceased by his parents; his mother-in-law, Ada C. Ames; his brother-in-law, Robert H. Ames; and his step-daughter, Sandra J. LaPointe.
George is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Ames Hubbard Elms; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Szekely of Bow and Marjorie Balsamello of Concord, formerly of Hallandale Beach, Fla.; one brother, Robert Elms of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one sister, Elizabeth Winterling of Baltimore; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no visiting hours. Burial will take place in McClary Cemetery in Epsom.
