Margaret M. (Peg) Buckley died peacefully May 18, 2014. Born on Oct. 15, 1923 in Lochmere, Peg graduated from Tilton Northfield High School and Concord Commercial College. She was married to the late Joseph C. Buckley and settled in Concord, where they raised a family. She worked for 16 years at the Concord tax collector's office until she retired at 62. After a year of retirement, she returned to work, working nearly an additional 20 years at the New Hampshire Bureau of Vital Records. She loved to work and be productive and was loved and respected by all who knew her. Most of all, Peg cherished her family of four children and now six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was happiest spending many wonderful summers with her family at Wallis Sands on the New Hampshire coast.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joe; her brother Arthur (Tim) Johnson and sister Betty Johnson. She is survived by her daughter Kathy and husband, Wayne McCabe; daughter Tricia Buckley; son Michael Buckley; son Tim and wife, Stephanie Buckley; her granddaughters, Erin and Colleen Hass, Meagan and husband, Matt Leonard, Alyssa Buckley and Sophia Buckley, and grandson Connor Buckley; and great-grandsons Liam and Fitz Leonard. She also leaves nieces and nephews – Jim and Peter Daley, Susan Fortier, Nancy Bourque, Steven Johnson and Michael Burke.
There will be a visitation hour from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 23, 2014, followed by a service at noon at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., in Concord.
