PEMBROKE - Myrtle E. Cochran, 81, of Pembroke, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, following a long illness.
Born in Laconia on July 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Fred Elwin Barnes and Florence Whiting Barnes. She was raised in North Sandwich and a long time resident of Pembroke.
She worked for many years with Annalee Dolls before retiring. She had a passion for gambling and always looked forward to her trips to Las Vegas, Foxwoods and she had a great love for bingo. When she was not gambling, you could find her by the lake in the evenings fishing for hornpout or at home watching the Red Sox.
Myrtle was pre-deceased by her sister, Ruth Pearson.
She is survived by a sister, Ruby Kleczek of Keene; a son, Elwin Cochran, and a daughter, Sheila Cochran both of Pembroke; three grandchildren, Stacey Ouellette and her husband, Erik Ouellette, Andrea Cochran and Shaun Cochran; along with several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Pembroke Congregational Church, 301 Pembroke St., Pembroke.
