Northfield – Robert F. Dow Sr., 80, of Northfield, died at his home July 20, 2013, after a long battle with COPD.
He was born in Concord on May 28, 1933, the son of Harold F. Dow and Ruth Alice (Young) Dow. Mr. Dow was raised in Concord and lived in Northfield for 56 years.
Several years ago, he worked at Malleable Iron Co. in Laconia, JP Stevens Co. for 15 years, and lastly he was employed by Quality Controls, where he worked for 21 years.
He was a very hard-working man and was well liked and loved by many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and following the Red Sox.
Family members include his wife of 56 years, Bernice "Bea" (Leavitt) Dow of Northfield; three children, Robert F. Dow Jr., Duane C. Dow and Justin A. Hancock, all of Northfield; three grandchildren, Robynn Mai Moore of Laconia, Scott Tarr of Belmont, and Robert David Moore of Northfield; two great-grandchildren, Conner Chamberland and Abby; and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Arch Cemetery, Summer Street, Northfield.
