EPSOM – Steven W. Davis, 74, a longtime Epsom resident, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at CRVNA Hospice House.
Born on March 26, 1939, in Pittsfield, Steven was the son of Steven A. and Alice Vera (Dickey) Davis. Steven graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1957. He spent many years working for Morgan Linen Services before starting his own business, Suncook Valley Disposal.
Steve was a music lover. He played the trumpet as a member of his high school band. His passion, however, was square dance calling, which he had enjoyed for over 25 years.
Steve also liked camping, spending time with his family and being with his dog, Willy.
Members of his family include his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Mahair) Davis of Epsom; three daughters, Michelle Mankiewicz and Christine Topham, both of Loudon, and Penny Taylor and her husband, Rodney, of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, Nichole Mooney, Jeffrey Mankiewicz, Benjamin Topham, Samantha Taylor, and Rebecca Mankiewicz; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra Davis of Concord and Linda Gorman of Dover; and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway. in Epsom. A short prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
