Walter H. Howard

LOUDON – Walter H. Howard of Loudon passed away on May 3, 2013, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Winnifred; brother, Franklin Howard, of Mountain View, Calif.; two sons, Walter Howard Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Frank Howard of Pulaski, Va.; three granddaughters, Carla Howard, Veronica Howard and Air Force 1st Lt. Samantha Howard; and three great-granddaughters.
Among his passions were the Nevers Band and the United Church of Penacook, where he was named deacon emeritus.
Walter had served with the Army Signal Corps prior to his marriage, instructing in radio repair, where he attained the rank of technical sergeant.
Internment ceremonies will be Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m. at the New Hampshire Veteran's Cemetery in Upper Boscawen with a Celebration of Life reception downstairs at the United Church of Penacook immediately following.
Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to the Open Door Community Kitchen in Penacook.
