BOSCAWEN - William A. Miner Sr., 91, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at his home in Boscawen surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born in Boscawen the son of Alexander and Albena (Shepard) Miner in April 1922. He has lived in Boscawen or Penacook his entire life attending the local schools as he grew up.
He was employed at Hoyt Electric for 35 years retiring as a Foreman-Machinist in 1987. He is a life long member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Penacook. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop, making wood toys for his grandchildren as well as fine hand crafted lathed wood pen barrels. Bill loved to garden and have backyard campfires with family; he also loved to go camping with his family and spend time with his grandchildren whom he adored. More recently he liked spending time on his computer playing different variations of the game Solitaire.
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Leona (Rule) Miner in 2004; a son, William Miner Jr. in Oct. of 2012; as well as nine brothers and sisters.
He is survived by five daughters and their spouses, Donna Welcome and her husband, Robert, of Boscawen, Cheryl Fairneny and her husband, Fred, of Warner, Raeleen Williams and her husband, Edward, of Bow, Lorrie Michaud and her husband, Nelson, of Franklin, Janne Miner and her partner, Kathy Boisvert, of Boscawen; four sons and their spouses, Stuart and Linda Miner of Penacook, Alan and Sandra Miner of Boscawen, Bryant Miner and Debra Kenniston of Webster, Jayson Miner of Concord; his daughter in-law, Rita Miner of Pembroke; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday, June 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 9 Bonney St., Penacook. Internment will immediately follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Penacook.
