Arthur R. Foote, 77, of Concord passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 16th, 2012.

Arthur was born in Penacook June 30, 1935, the son on Henry O. and Rosanna M. (Mitchell) Foote and attended Penacook High School. Arthur was a patriot with a deep love of his country. He proudly served in the United States Air Force stationed at Andrews AFB and Wright-Paterson AFB and he saw active duty time as a medic in Okinawa, Japan and Korea during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, Arthur worked for Alaska RR and Brezner Tannery and was as a machinist with Webster Valve for 38 years.

Arthur is described by his loved ones as a good and devoted father and husband; a quiet, gentle and loyal man who was fiercely protective of his family and friends. He had a rare level of intelligence which fueled a dry and clever wit. Arthur never spoke an unkind word about anyone and was well-loved and respected by everyone who met him. He loved fishing, hunting and potato farming and greatly enjoyed spending time with his sons-in-law.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gloria M. (Buskey) Foote; daughters, Lory Grimes and her husband Bill, Luanne Sutherland, Kelly Warren and her husband John; bother Oscar Foote of Meredith; sisters Beverly Miller of Denver, Margaret Rondeau of Suncook and Irene Nickerson of Penacook; grandchildren Angela Fournier and her husband Peter, Jessica Matheis and her husband Denton, Joshua Sutherland and his fiancée Sabrina Garceau; Sara Place and her husband Dan, Krystal Snowden and her husband Jimmy, Jeanne Young and her husband Daniel, Benjamin Warren and his wife Amanda, and Kayla Grimes; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his son-in-law, Gregory Sutherland; brothers Jim, Kenny, Stanley and Tom; and sisters Helen Vigue, Herberta Hammermeister and Shirley Geer.

Arthur will be laid to rest with military honors Friday, December 28th, at 11 a.m., at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
