CHICHESTER - Bertha M. Hayward Harrison, 98, of Dover Road, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, after a brief stay at the Hospice House in Concord.

Bertha was born Oct. 27, 1914, in Pembroke. Bertha worked for many years at the Rumford Press.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband, William G. Harrison in 1994.
Bertha loved animals; she especially liked feeding the birds and deer that came into the yard. She also liked dogs. She always had a dog as a pet and she also had a cat named Funny Face that she loved.
Bertha was survived by her five nieces, Aubrey Moody, Julia LaPlante, Marion Barrett, Betty Murray and Patty Lue Hayward; and by four nephews, Kenneth Barrett, Richard Barrett, Ronny Hayward and Daniel Hayward. She was also survived by seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also predeceased by her nephew, Walter Barrett.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, June 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Moore Cemetery in Loudon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bertha's name to a dog or cat shelter or to the Concord Merrimack County SPCA, 130 Washington St., Penacook, N.H. 03303; or to CRVNA Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, N.H. 03301.
