EPSOM - Carolyn Ashby, 83, of Windymere Road died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Concord Hospital.

She was born in Taunton, Mass., the daughter of the late Norman Carter and Stella (Bishop) Mick.
She worked as a certified Nurse's Aide at the Epsom Manor for several years. She was a member of the American Legion in Epsom, a Volunteer for the VA Hospital, enjoyed gardening and crafting and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her son, Donald Pembroke, of Lee; a daughter Janice Pembroke, of Contoocook; two grandchildren, Michelle McIntyre and her husband Jeff of Norton, Mass., and Michael Pembroke, Sr. of Charleston, Mass.; two great grandsons, Michael Pembroke, Jr. of Foxboro, Mass. and Ian McIntyre of Norton, Mass.; a brother, Raymond Carter of Natick, Mass.; several nieces and nephews; and her dog Frieda.
She was predeceased by her son, Norman Pembroke and her sister Sandra Burt.
A Memorial Visiting Hour will be held Thursday December 15, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Waters Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Odell will officiate.
Burial will be at a later date in the New Rye Cemetery in Epsom.
