BOSCAWEN - Daniel "Dan" Mathieu, age 73, of Boscawen, died Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 in Concord from cancer.

He was born December 31st, 1939 son of the late Leo Mathieu and Lavona (Fifefield) Mathieu of Webster.

Dan worked as a surveyor and engineer for the NH Department of Transportation. He retired in 2000 and spent time enjoying the outdoors.

His love for nature led to his many hobbies such as fishing, hunting, mountain man competitions, and silhouette shooting. He taught and passed these loves onto his family. Dan won many awards for his competitive shooting and shared his talents with his grandsons who will continue his legacy in competition.

He is survived by his daughter Danielle Mathieu of Clemson, S.C.; his son Clifton Mathieu and his wife Shannon Mathieu of Canterbury; and his two grandsons River and Lucas Mathieu.

A private family service will be held in his memory.
