Daphne Crane, 87, died Thursday, May 15, at home in Concord surrounded by family.

She born in New York to Orice and Helen (Taylor) Root in October 1936.
Daphne was an accountant employed by the state of New Hampshire Department of Corrections, where she worked for many years before retirement. She enjoyed her flower gardens and watching all the different wildlife that enjoyed them as well, especially watching and learning the different birds.
She is predeceased by her parents as well as two brothers, John and James Kinsey; two sisters, Helen Dawson and Carolyn Eggleston; and a stepdaughter, Susan Crane.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, George Crane, of Concord; two sons, George Anguish of Concord and Preston Roland of Haverhill, Mass.; a daughter, Valerie Warriner of Rumford, Maine; three stepsons, Steven Crane of Penacook, David Crane of Concord, Timothy Crane of Concord; a grandson, George Johnson of Concord; a granddaughter, Amanda Anguish of Franklin; her first great-grandchild; and many other extended family and grandchildren.
There will be a visiting hour on Tuesday from 1 to 2:15 p.m., at Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook 03303. We will procession immediately following calling hours to Maple Grove Cemetery in West Concord for a 2:30 p.m. graveside funeral service officiated by Pastor Terry Odell.
