HILLSBOROUGH - Elinor H. Vaillancourt of Hillsborough, died at home Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Elinor was born in Henniker in 1917 to the parents Wilbur and Emily (Wells) Parmenter. She was a graduate of Cogswell Memorial High School and attended Plymouth State Teachers College where she studied to be an elementary school teacher.

Following college she taught elementary school in Enfield and Hillsborough, and retired in 1977. After many years of volunteering for historical and church related activities, she was honored as Hillsborough Citizen of the Year in 1999.
She was pre-deceased by her husband George J. Vaillancourt; her grandson Brett Travis Vaillancourt; her sister Frances Bennett; and her brothers Norman Parmenter and George Parmenter.
Elinor is survived by her son Timothy W. Vaillancourt; daughter Faith V. Stuart and husband John H. Stuart; grandchildren Erika A. Stuart and husband Jonathan Feinstein, James A. Stuart and fiancé Jean Ann Falls; great grandchildren Daisy and Calder as well loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held by the family in the spring.
