TILTON - James C. Johnson Sr., 90, of Pembroke died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 8, 1922, in Wilmington, Del., the son of Vaughn and Nalletta (Chambers) Johnson. He was educated in the Delaware school system.

He served in the U.S. Marines during both World War II and the Korean War.

Prior to retirement, he had been a draft room supervisor in the electronics industry for many years.

He was a longtime member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge in Concord.

Jim enjoyed woodworking and caring for animals. Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving husband and father who cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, M. Theresa (Gallant) Johnson of Pembroke; three sons, Brian K. Johnson and wife, Michelle, of Suncook, James C. Johnson Jr. and wife, Kathleen, of Hudson and Bruce J. Johnson and wife, Joyce, of Sandown; seven grandchildren; seven great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and nephews, nieces and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Jan. 5 from noon to 2 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester, followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
