Lauri E. Ostrander Klefos, 62, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away November 28, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Aberdeen, MD, on February 26, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Adele L. Ostrander.
Lauri was educated in Southern New Hampshire Schools. She was married to Christopher R. Klefos, who predeceased her.
She was the Executive Vice President of 1Berkshire, and previously worked as a tourism director in the state of New Hampshire, and on the Arizona Tourism Board.
A wine enthusiast, she enjoyed spending time on the beach, especially on the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
She leaves behind her sisters, Paula Morris of Dayton, OH, Elise Ostrander of Dublin, CA, and Joellyn Ostrander of Alexandria, VA; her step-son Brian Klefos and wife Krista, and granddaughter Ashlynn of Cleveland, OH; as well as two aunts, an uncle and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Deena Pickerel.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Klefos, will be held, Friday, December 7, 2018 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. Michael Bernier, Pastor. Calling hours will be held, WEDNESDAY, December 5, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Yours truly was saddened to hear about this. It was always a pleasure to speak with Lauri (chatted with her several times at conferences). She had a great smile and a wonderful heart. She will be missed by yours truly.

I feel honored to have known and worked with Lauri for eight years. It's heartbreaking that she died so young and so close to her dream of retirement. Sending love and prayers to Lauri and all those grieving our remarkable friend and colleague....

I was shocked and really saddened to hear the news about Lauri. I had the pleasure of getting to know Lauri through her leadership on tourism related matters. I will never forget how helpful and supportive she was to me when I first entered the tourism industry. She was a great leader and mentor. My condolences to her family and friends for the loss.

I worked with Lauri for many years when she was at the Berkshire Visitors Bureau and 1Berkshire, and I will miss her very much. She was a great advocate for the Berkshires, and a kind and thoughtful colleague. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones.

We have lost a great person & friend much too soon! We enjoyed many wonderful memories on Lake Wentworth and around NH.
