PITTSFIELD - Lawrence M Williams Sr., 70, of Loudon Road, died Monday, July 16th, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was born in St. Petersburg, Fla., the son of the late Tony and Mary Greco. He has lived in Pittsfield for the last 48 years. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor for the State of NH Administrative Services for over 15 years before retiring in 1995. He was a former member of the Pittsfield Police Department. He was a Navy Seabee serving in Cuba. He was a member of the American Legion Post 75, Pittsfield and Post 28, Suncook. He was a Past NH District #5 Commander and belonged to the VFW Posts in Concord and Pittsfield. He was the founding President (1978-1985) of Pittsfield Youth Baseball and was recently active in the dedication of the Youth Baseball Field.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara (Vien) Williams of Pittsfield; a son Lawrence Williams, Jr., and wife Melody of Pittsfield; a daughter Jean Williams and partner Wayne Harrison of Pittsfield and Pepperall, Mass. Grandchildren Thomas and Emily Williams. He is survivor by two sisters Carol Mardis of Brooksville, Fla., and Mary Grumblatt of Pineallas Park, Fla. A special friend Arthur Abbott and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a Brother Joseph Greco of Georgia.

There are no visiting hours.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday July 20, at 11 a.m. at the Pittsfield Youth Baseball Field, Tilton Hill Road, Pittsfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Pittsfield Youth Athletic Fields, C/O Glenn Amnott, 1324 Upper City Road, Pittsfield, NH 03263.
