The Guest Book is expired.

Lillian passed peacefully Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born Lily Kantrowitz on Oct. 11, 1918 to Louis and Shana (Mark) Kantrowitz. She grew up in New York City before the family moved to Pine Brook, N.J. In 1936 Lillian was graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Caldwell, N.J.

On Dec. 4, 1938, she married Ellsworth Rosenberg. They lived in Pine Brook, Verona and Caldwell, N.J. before moving to Plantation, Fla. full time about 20 years ago. Lillian worked as office manager for Matzner Publications in West Caldwell and West Orange for many years before her retirement.

She was very active in the Sisterhood of Congregation Agudath Israel of West Essex, Women's league for Israel, B'nai Brith, and was a life member of Hadassah. In 1976 She was honored as Woman of the Year by the Women's League.

Always the gracious hostess her home was always filled with friends and family. She loved to entertain but most of all she loved her children, family and friends. Her greatest joy was the birth of her great-grandson, Torston Kanegsberg. She would watch endless videos of him. She was always the peace maker and hated any discord. She was a wonderful knitter making sweaters for her children and grandchildren as well as for friends and charity. She was an accomplished seamstress, again making clothes for her daughter and nieces. She loved to read and instilled that in her children.

She is predeceased by her parents and older brothers, Milton, Murray and Harold.

She is survived by her living husband of 75 years, Ellsworth; daughter, Helaine Kanegsberg (Alan) of Bow; son, Arthur Rosenberg (Kathryn) of Ooletwah, Tenn.; grandchildren, Howard Kanegsberg (Marianne), Philip Kanegsberg (Denise), Jennifer and Gregory Rosenberg; and great-grandson Torston Kanegsberg; as well as many nieces and nephews.
